Is my CRS score still important?
According to the IRCC, during category-based invitation rounds, candidates in the Express Entry pool who meet the category requirements will be ranked, and those with the highest rankings will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
Just like in a standard draw, eligible candidates will be ordered based on their CRS score. So, those with higher scores are still more likely to get an invitation.
Moreover, the IRCC will keep having regular all-program or program-specific draws. So, maintaining a high CRS score remains important to be considered for these draws. Although the CRS score cut offs are expected to be higher than what we are used to, if IRCC continues to give small amounts of Invitations in All Program Draws.
