Working Holiday Visa Invitations:
In the latest IEC round of invitations, 4,643 open work permit invitations were sent.
If you qualify for the Working Holiday category, you can get a work permit that lets you work for any company in Canada.
This is great if you don’t have a job offer yet, and you want to work for different employers and travel around while making money.
Young Professionals Invitations:
In the latest IEC round of invitations, 257 invitations were sent in this category.
The Young Professionals category provides a work visa linked to a specific employer for eligible applicants from certain countries.
To qualify, you must have a real job offer from a Canadian company that supports career growth. You also need to commit to working for the same company and at the same location.
International Co-op (Internship):
In the latest IEC round of invitations, 118 invitations were sent under this category.
In the International Co-op (Internship) category, if you’re a post-secondary student with a job offer for a work placement or internship in Canada, you can get a work visa for that specific employer.
It’s a way for students to gain work experience in Canada while finishing their education.
IEC 2024 Fees
To apply for IEC 2024, you need to pay $172 CAD. If you qualify, it’s recommended to apply for a Canadian work permit every week.
The application cost varies based on the program you choose. For the Working Holiday program, the fee is $100 CAD. Young Professionals and International Co-op candidates don’t have extra fees, but employers need to pay a $230 CAD compliance fee. If biometrics are needed, there’s an additional $85 CAD fee.
You can get a refund in certain situations, like if you withdraw before getting the Port of Entry (POE) letter or if your work permit application is rejected.
