What is Ontario PNP?
Established in 2007, Ontario Provincial Nominee program has been working tirelessly to address the critical labor market shortages in almost all industries across the province. Ontario’s hunger for skilled professionals is ever-present, leading to numerous job opportunities across high-demand sectors to fuel its economy.
This initiative has put Ontario, and especially its most loved cities – Toronto and Ottawa, on the map for immigrants seeking permanent residency in Canada.
If you’re immigrating to Ontario, you have three main pathways to explore:
- Human Capital Program Ontario
- Employer Job Offer Program Ontario
- Business Immigration Program Ontario
These pathways are categorized under two main streams: base and enhanced. The enhanced streams of Ontario PNP correspond with the Express Entry system, a federal immigration initiative that manages three pivotal economic immigration pathways in Canada.
If you’re considering seeking a provincial nomination through the PNP, the first step will be to submit an Expression of Interest.
The selection process takes into account the scores from the points calculator, using the information provided in your EOI. By clinching a nomination via the enhanced stream, you’ll earn a bonus of 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This effectively fast-tracks your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply for Canada Permanent Residency.
If you’re considering the base streams, these are not tied to the Express Entry system, and candidates must directly apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
When’s the Next Ontario PNP Draw?
Typically, Ontario PNP draws occur bi-monthly, but there can be exceptions. Detailed information about the forthcoming Ontario PNP draw isn’t usually published in advance.
Ontario’s PNP continues to offer an inviting environment for immigrants seeking a new home in Canada.
Stay tuned with +1 News for more updates on OINP ITAs in the different streams as we continue to track the promising trends in immigration to Ontario in 2024.
