IEC 2024 sent out the second-highest number of invitations this week.
According to the latest update, Finland is now on the list of IEC member countries. Starting from March 1, 2024, Finns can enter their information into the IEC pools. The first invitations will go out during the week of March 11, 2024.
Working Holiday Visa Invitations:
If you meet the requirements for the Working Holiday category, you can get a work permit allowing you to work for any company in Canada. T
his is great if you don’t have a job offer yet and want to work for various employers while traveling and earning money.
Young Professionals Invitations:
The Young Professionals category offers a work visa tied to a particular employer for eligible applicants from specific countries.
To qualify, you need a real job offer from a Canadian company that supports your career growth. You also have to agree to work for the same company and at the same location.
International Co-op (Internship):
If you’re a college student and have a job offer for an internship or work placement in Canada, you can apply for a work visa in the International Co-op (Internship) category.
This allows you to gain work experience in Canada while you’re still in school.

IEC 2024 Fees
For the 2024 season, Canada has set the IEC cost for all athletes at $172 CAD.
The IEC fees depend on the immigration program you choose.
If you’re applying for a working holiday, you’ll need to pay a $100 Canadian fee.
Young professionals and overseas co-op candidates don’t have extra costs, but their employers must pay a $230 CAD employer compliance fee.
If you need to provide biometrics, you’ll have to pay an additional $85 CAD along with the IEC charge.
