Sean Fraser became the Immigration Minister of Canada in 2021, after Marco Mendicino.
In December 2021, Trudeau gave Fraser a list of important immigration policies to focus on:

- Improve application processing for newcomers

- Strengthen family reunification
- Promote francophone immigration to Canada
Since then, Fraser has made progress on these measures. For instance:
