1. Education:
To apply for the new Alberta Tourism and Hospitality Stream, you need to have at least a high school education or higher in Canada.
If your education was completed outside Canada, you must get it verified through the Education Credential Assessment (ECA).
If you’re a tradesperson, you can also apply if you have a valid Alberta Qualification Certificate or a trade certificate recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
2. Current Job
When you apply for the new Alberta Tourism and Hospitality Stream and the AAIP reviews your application, you need to:
- Have full-time employment with a known and reputable employer in the tourism and hospitality sector within Alberta.
- Live and work in Alberta.
- Have an LMIA approved through a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment for an eligible job.
3. Work experience
To apply for Alberta Tourism and Hospitality Stream, you need to have worked full-time (30 hours per week) in a qualified job for at least six months in a row.
