An altercation broke out on the soccer field, and a spectator later identified as Cuxum allegedly walked onto the field, discharged a firearm into a group of players, and then fled the scene.
Three individuals were rushed to the hospital with gunshot injuries of varying severity. One of the victims, 49-year-old Edwin Farley Alvarado Quintero, didn’t survive. Edwin was a recently immigrated Colombian, a loving husband, and a father who was simply pursuing his passion as a referee when tragedy struck.
Due to this incident, Cuxum became #1 on Toronto Police‘ list of the most wanted criminals in Canada.
Reward and Public Warning
A significant reward of up to CAD $250,000 has been announced for any information leading to Cuxum’s arrest. This reward, offered in cooperation with Toronto Crime Stoppers, will remain available until November 30, 2023, and can be claimed within a year from the date of Cuxum’s arrest.
Authorities have warned the public not to attempt apprehending Cuxum, as he may be armed and dangerous. Anyone aiding Cuxum in evading arrest could face charges as an accessory after the fact, a serious crime under the Criminal Code of Canada that can lead to life imprisonment.
