What is Canada Workers Benefit (CWB)?
The CWB is designed to support working individuals and families who, however, have relatively low income not enough to cater for their needs or those of their families. The benefit has two parts:
- Basic Amount
- Disability Allowance
Claim your CWB payment when you file your income tax return.
As of July 28, 2023, the CWB will provide you with advance payments using your 2022 tax information. You will get one-half of your CWB through three advance payments using the Advanced Canada workers benefit (ACWB). This helps to make sure workers have more of their money when it is needed, helping to cope with the rising cost of living.
If you received the CWB in 2022, you will get these advance payments automatically, and you do not have to do anything.
