Summary of All Express Entry Draws in 2023
What is Express Entry?
The Express Entry system is the quickest method to become a permanent resident in Canada. Once you submit all the necessary documents after receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA), it takes around 6 months to process your application.
Your application is ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which gives points based on specific factors. People with the highest scores get an Invitation to Apply (ITA), which lets them apply for permanent residency.
Express Entry is a system that handles applications for three Canadian immigration programs:
Candidates in the Express Entry system can receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through draws that target specific characteristics. These category-based draws started in May 2023 and consist of six categories.
- French-language proficiency
- Healthcare occupations
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) occupations
- Trade occupations
- Transport occupations
- Agriculture and agri-food occupations
If you have a high CRS score, you have a better chance of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw, regardless of the program or type of application you have.
Canada aims to welcome 114,000 new permanent residents every year through Express Entry by the end of 2025. This plan will be carried out over the next three years.
