On February 01, 2024, the Fourth Express Entry draw of 2024 sent out 7,000 invitations to apply for permanent residency in a ‘French language proficiency’ draw.
Candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 365 or higher have received invitations. This is the lowest minimum CRS score of the year so far.

Today’s draw is the second one this week, following the January 31 draw where 730 candidates were invited. They needed a minimum CRS score of 541.
In January, there were two other draws. The first was on January 23, inviting 1,040 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 543 in a general draw. The draw before that happened on January 10, also a general draw, inviting 1,510 candidates with a CRS score of 546.
It’s too early in the year to predict how Express Entry draws will go in 2024. In 2023, IRCC conducted 42 draws, giving Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to over 110,000 candidates, helping meet the admissions targets for both 2023 and 2024 in the Immigration Levels Plan.

What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is a system managing applications for three main economic immigration programs: Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
Express Entry uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to assess candidates based on factors like work experience, language proficiency, education, age, and occupation. Those with higher CRS scores have a better chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the subsequent Express Entry draw.
Once an individual receives an ITA, they can submit their application to the IRCC. The government aims to process Express Entry applications and provide final decisions within a six-month service standard.
